Mortal Kombat X News: Mortal Kombat Fans Upset Over Upcoming DLC Characters
Mortal Kombat fans waited months and used up plenty of energy trying to find out which characters would be added to Mortal Kombat X as downloadable content (DLC). Unfortunately, not all fans are happy with all of the characters coming to the game next year.
Two out of the characters announced last week are not receiving a warm greeting, Realty Today reports. These two characters are external characters from movies.
Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Xenomorph from "Alien" are receiving poor scores as the DLC characters for Kombat Pack 2 according to a poll from Mortal Kombat Online. When users of the website were asked which their favorite character out of the four were, they answered Bo Rai Cho (50 percent) and Tri-Borg (37.5 percent). Leatherface was only chosen by 4.8 percent of the users and Xenomorph just 7.6 percent.
Fans are especially mad that Leatherface is going to be added to the game as a DLC character. A forum on Reddit shows that there was no interest in Leatherface being added to the game and that he was not a character that fans had asked for.
One Reddit user, effyounguns, said he followed the news on the DLC characters for Mortal Kombat X and he was perplexed on why Leatherface was picked as a DLC character.
"I've read through so many threads in this subreddit and I don't think a single person asked for Leatherface as DLC," effyounguns said.
NetherRealm Studios director Brian Chard said that putting Leatherface into the game was made by many people in the development team and by Warner Bros., the game's publisher. NetherRealm Studios is Mortal Kombat X's developer. Chard said he suggested Fujin, Havik, Sareena & Khameleon.
According to the poll, Mortal Kombat X fans are satisfied with the two internal characters, Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg. Bo Rai Cho is a drunken master of martial arts and Tri-Borg is a combination of Sektor, Cyrax and Robot Smoke.
