Google announced its most popular apps of the year and the top ten contains several different types of apps. Google organizes their "Best of 2015" list by splitting games and apps into different lists.

The top ten app list, according to the Google Play store is below.

No. 10: SwiftKey Keyboard. The SwiftKey Keyboard app is designed to improve the typing of users on smartphones and tablets. As the keyboard is used more often it starts learning the typing style of the user and starts predicting words for fast and easy typing. Typos are greatly reduced with this app and over 250 million people in the world use it. 

No. 9: Office Lens. The Office Lens app helps convert documents from whiteboards and physical sheets of paper into readable electronic documents that can be displayed on computer screens. These images can then be converted into Word or PDF files.

No. 8: Kitchen Stories. Kitchen Stories is a fun app that helps novice and experienced chefs create all sorts of dishes with videos, step-by-step photo recipes and much more.

No. 7: Star Wars. Star Wars is the official app from Disney. Inside the app, Star Wars fans can find exclusive news, special trailers, games, sound clips and more.

No. 6: Khan Academy. This is a free learning app that has over 10,000 teaching videos for nearly every topic. Users can learn lessons in science, math, economics and other topics. 

No. 5: theScore. This app is designed for sports fans who want to keep tabs on all of their favorite teams. Custom alerts allow instant scoring and news updates.

No. 4: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. With Adobe Photoshop Lightroom users are able to edit photos with professional tools found in the full Photoshop program. Once photos are completed, they can easily be shared on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

No. 3: Jet.com. This is a shopping app that helps users save money by finding discounts and coupons. When users sign up for a Jet membership they are given member-exclusive pricing from many different shopping websites.

No. 2: Colorify - Coloring Book Free. The Coloring Book Free app allows users to add color to many different designs, drawing and paintings. After completion of their pictures, users are able to share them on their social media sites, email them to friends or even text them.

No. 1: EyeEm Camera & Photo Filter. The EyeEm Camera & Photo Filter app provides powerful photo-editing tools for pictures taken on smartphones. Users are able to create great photos and even sell them with this app.
