Solgaleo

The mascot for "Pokémon Sun" is Solgaleo. With the ability Full Metal Body, Solgaleo is a dual Psychic and Steel type Pokémon. The ability has never been seen on another Pokémon, and it'll not allow a Pokémon's stats to be lowered by the effects of an opponent's moves or ability.

According to a statement provided to Latin Post, "Honored as an emissary of the sun since ancient times, Solgaleo is referred to with reverence as 'the beast that devours the sun.' Solgaleo's body holds a vast amount of energy, and it shines with light when it is active. It has a flowing mane with a remarkable resemblance to the sun."

One of its moves is Sunsteel Strike, an attack that charges at the opponent with the force of a meteor and disregards the target's ability.

For "Pokémon Moon," the mascot is Lunala. With the ability Shadow Shield, Lunala is also a dual Psychic and Ghost type and can perform the attack Moongeist Beam.

In a statement about Lunala to Latin Post, "Since ancient times, Lunala has been honored as an emissary of the moon. Referred to with reverence as 'the beast that calls the moon,' Lunala is constantly absorbing light and converting it into energy. With its wings spread to absorb the surrounding light and glittering like the crescent moon, it resembles a beautiful night sky."

Known as the Moone Pokémon, Lunala's signature Moongeist Beam attack releases a beam of light that also disregards the target's ability, similar to Solgaleo.
