Google Nexus 5 Release Date, Features and Manufacturing Company: Google Still Not Confirming Rumors
With the success of its predecessor, the Nexus 5 has been a hot topic for tech geeks and Android fans these past few months. Although Google has not yet confirmed any release date for the much awaited Nexus 5, rumors regarding its release date and would-be features have been flying around from all directions.
According to International Business Times, the Nexus 5 will be released in October -- the same month the much-anticipated Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie operating system is set to debut. On another IB Times report, the Nexus 5 is said to be released in November, the same month last year that its predecessor, the Nexus 4, was released.
Google, the search engine giant, has made no comments or official statements to date regarding the company tasked to produce the Nexus 5.
In a statement released by South Korean company LG, the maker of the Nexus 4, Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe Kim Wong said that the company "does not need such a marketing success again." This statement prompted rumors regarding the possibility of Google having to look for another company to manufacture the Nexus 5. Google has recently worked with Asus on the production of the Nexus 7 tablet and Samsung is manufacturing Nexus 10 -- making them big candidates for the creation of the Nexus 5.
Trusted Reviews says the Nexus 5 will be sporting the new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or the latest Android OS, a 5.2-inch OLED 920 x 1080 Full HD display, a 16-megapixel rear side camera allowing for full 1080 HD video recording capabilities, a 2.1-megapixel snapper in the front, a 3300mAh battery capacity and a 2.3GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The unit is rumored to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage but still without a micro SD card expansion like Nexus 4.
