A plane carrying four Canadian skydivers was forced into an emergency landing on a beach in Oaxaca, Mexico, Reuters reports.

The incident, which occurred on Bacocho beach in the renowned Pacific resort town of Puerto Escondido, resulted in the tragic death of a 62-year-old Mexico man who was on the beach at the time.

The plane, carrying both Canadian and Mexican passengers, made an unexpected descent onto a populated section of the Mexico beach, leading to the unfortunate demise of the man.

The Mexico man's wife, who was present alongside him on the beach, miraculously escaped unharmed.

Distressing footage from Puerto Global depicted the damaged aircraft on the beach, colliding with what was reported to be a turtle rescue center.

The Oaxaca State Civil Defense's office released a statement, providing initial details while affirming that investigations into the incident were underway.

No further information regarding the landing or the identities of those involved was disclosed, with the focus on the ongoing inquiry.

Remarkably, no other individuals on the Mexico beach sustained injuries during the emergency landing.

Social media posts displayed the aircraft's side marked "Skydive Puerto Escondido," with the website for Skydive Puerto Escondido advertising jumps from 13,000 feet above sea level.

The accident occurred dangerously close to the water and a wooden Mexico beach structure commonly used for restaurants.

Impact on Puerto Escondido Community

The incident has sent shockwaves through the close-knit community of Mexico's Puerto Escondido, renowned for its stunning beaches and vibrant surf culture, BBN noted.

While the city attracts adventure seekers, this incident underscores the inherent risks associated with such pursuits.

Authorities have cordoned off the affected area, anticipating a heightened security presence and possible traffic disruptions as emergency services continue their work.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the incident site and seek alternative routes until authorities declare it safe.

Questions surrounding the cause of the Mexico plane crash landing loom over Puerto Escondido, prompting local authorities and the Mexican Civil Aviation Authority to launch investigations.
