US House Speaker Mike Johnson's job is in danger as Marjorie Taylor Greene's plans to force a vote on the matter is expected to happen this week, even though there is a massive backlash from the far right, with Donald Trump expressing his support for Johnson and Fox News Calling Greene an "idiot" on air.

However, as The Guardian pointed out, the Georgia Republican's effort to put her fellow MAGA Republican colleague from the speakership "faces virtually no chance of success." This may be because Johnson still has many loyalists, even among other far-right Republicans, as well as Democrats possibly coming to the speaker's aid to prevent further chaos.

Despite this possibility of her move to oust Johnson from the US House speakership, Greene remains determined and continued blasting the speaker for "abandoning his Republican principles in favor of Democratic priorities, such as Ukraine funding."

"Mike Johnson is giving [Democrats] everything they want," Greene told reporters. "I think every member of Congress needs to take that vote and let the chips fall where they may. And so next week, I am going to be calling this motion to vacate."

The Democratic leadership has been loud in criticizing Greene's "pro-Putin Republican obstruction," while Republicans have largely ignored her grandstanding, with only two Republicans, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Paul Gosar of Arizona, supporting her motion.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams Fox News After Anchor Called Her an 'Idiot'

The move is not very popular with conservatives outside the US House either, as FoxNews.com contributor Liz Peek called her an "idiot" in an op-ed and accused her of "bombastic self-serving showmanship" in her efforts to oust Mike Johnson,

However, Greene pushed back last weekend during her appearance on Steve Bannon's podcast, complaining to Bannon, "Fox News called me an idiot. That was literally their headline. They called me an idiot."

"The beautiful thing about it is Democrats have to come clean; they were controlling Mike Johnson anyway," she claimed without any proof. This is despite many of her fellow Republicans calling her not to go through with the vote.

"The internal squabbles of the party need to stop. If Marjorie Taylor Greene and others want to oppose aid to Ukraine or the FISA bill, they can vote against it. That's how democracy works," the op-ed said. "My message for MTG? Borrowing from Hillary Clinton: Get over yourself. The mission today is to elect Donald Trump."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Also Feuding with Jimmy Kimmel

Despite her faltering standing in the Republican Party, Greene has recently turned her focus on her ongoing feud with comedian Jimmy Kimmel, claiming on X that she reported the late-night TV host to Capitol Police after a joke he made about her in one of his opening monologues.

"Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him," joked Kimmel on his show.

Greene, who got triggered by the joke, responded, "This threat of violence against me by @jimmykimmel has been filed with the @CapitolPolice."

Kimmel also shot back with his usual joking ways, tweeting, "Officer? I would like to report a joke."

Kimmel often relishes getting attacked by Republican politicians as he often points out the absurdities and hypocrisies in their behavior, with his latest one also being his feud with Donald Trump.
