'Harry Potter' Fenrir Greyback Actor Dave Legeno Dies Hiking in Death Valley
Dave Legeno, 50, died while hiking in Death Valley.
The actor, who played Fenrir Greyback in the "Harry Potter" movies, was found by hikers on Sunday, July 6, according to TMZ. The Inyo County Sheriff's Department said that he died of "heat related issues." He may have died a few days before his body was found. Temperatures can reach more than 120 degrees during the summer.
He was found "in a remote wash" near Zabriskie Point, notes Yahoo.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1963 in Marylebone, London. His first role was in 2000 in "Snatch."
His first "Potter" movie was 2009's "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." He even voiced his character for the video game released on that same year. He was also in the last two films.
Some of his other credits include "Snow White and the Huntsman," "Borgia" and "Sword of Vengeance," which is yet to be released. He is also listed as an actor for "Petroleum Spirit," a movie that is slated to be released in 2014.
Legeno was skilled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, judo and Muay Thai. At 42, he became a professional mixed-martial arts competitor, notes Yahoo. He previously worked as bouncer.
He has a daughter in her 20s.
