Mortal Kombat X Characters Confirmed, Gameplay & Release Date News: Kitana, Other Women to Have More 'Realistic' Proportions; Shao Kahn Follower Confirmed Not to Appear
The female characters in Mortal Kombat X will be getting a bit of a makeover. Instead of focusing on sexiness, the developers of the game will focus on realism.
Women in Mortal Kombat X will look more like women, a NetherRealm developer said.
"The mantra for this game has always been realism; heading towards a more realistic look," NetherRealm's production manager Spiro Anagnostakos said according to Gamespot.. "So the same thing applies to the proportions where we try to bring things back in per se to where they should be."
To show comparison, Anagnostakos showed a character model of Kitana for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X video games. Kitana looks more like a woman than the picture he showed of Mileena from 2011's Moral Kombat. In Mileena's picture, her features -- mainly her breasts and buttocks -- are exaggerated and made very large.
Meanwhile, Thursday's live stream of Mortal Kombat X revealed an alternate design for Scorpion. His outfit is dominated by the color green in the picture.
Also during the stream, viewers found out that Jade will not be a character in Mortal Kombat X.
To add to Mortal Kombat X, gamers will be able to purchase downloadable content (DLC). The content will be called the Kombat Pass, according to Cinema Blend. Included with the Kombat Pass, according to Mortal Kombat X Executive Director Shaun Himmerick, will be new costumes and new fighters.
"The Kombat pack is four full characters and five skin packs (15 skins), which includes some of my most favorite skins in the game," Himmerick reportedly said on Twitter.
The cost for the Kombat Pass is not known at this point.
