Veteran pitcher David Price reiterated that he is not thinking of free agency as he is focused on helping the Detroit Tigers win the World Series in the 2015 MLB season.

Price, who will be playing in his eighth season in the league, will become a free agent after the upcoming season. The 29-year-old starting pitcher is scheduled to receive $19.75 million in the final year of his deal before he hits the free-agent market.

While recent reports are linking him to a move out of Detroit later this year, Price denied that he has already made up his mind on what he intends to do once his contract runs out and reiterated that he will not think about his future until after the 2015 MLB season.

"I haven't put a whole lot of thought to free agency," Price told ESPN. "If it happens, I'm fine with it. But I don't put thought to it on a day-to-day basis. I don't think about it before I go to bed. I don't think about it when I wake up. I don't think about it when I'm driving to the field."

Price, who started last season with the Tampa Bay Rays before moving to Detroit before the deadline, went 15-12 in 34 starts last season. He went 11-8 in 23 starts for the Rays before the trade. In 11 starts with the Tigers, the left hander went 4-4 with a 3.59 ERA with 82 strikeouts.

When asked about his performance over the past several seasons, Price confidently said that he has been progressing and is becoming a better pitcher, which makes most analysts believe that the seven-year veteran will seek a deal not less than the seven-year, $210 million deal Max Scherzer signed with the Washington Nationals.

According to MLB analyst Jason Stark, the Tigers will likely let go of Price if he pushes for a deal similar to or greater than Scherzer's contract because the team is already committed to lucrative deals for Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, Anibal Sanchez and Ian Kinsler after the 2017 season.

But for Price, all talks about his future are pure speculation at this point because he is not really worried about whether or not he will still be a Tiger after the upcoming season.

"It's intriguing and it's enticing, but I don't think about it," Price said, referring to free agency. "I can honestly sit here and say I don't think about what I'm going to be doing in six months, or who I'm going to be signed with, or any of that stuff. I want to be here. Right now, I want to live in the present."
