Nina Dobrev sent her fans into a frenzy when reports of her allegedly kissing Austin Stowell from “Whiplash” surfaced. The star of “The Vampire Diaries” has reportedly not had a serious relationship ever since she split from her long-time boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.

When rumors of Dobrev being caught making out during the Indianapolis 500 auto race with the 30-year-old actor came out, her fans started to freak out, according to Hollywood Life. They were all excited that their idol has officially found someone new.

The rumored couple further sparked rumors when their photo booth pictures from May 11 found its way to the Internet. Although, in most of the photos, they had other friends inside the booth, it was apparent that Dobrev and Stowell were already very comfortable with one another.

Stowell and one of Dobrev’s best friends, Selena Gomez, had actually starred alongside one another in “In Dubious Battle.” Reports also indicated that Gomez was actually the one who introduced Stowell and Dobrev to one another, which seems to prove that Stowell possesses a highly recommendable character.

This also stubs rumors that tension is brewing between Dobrev and Gomez when rumors that the “Let’s Be Cops” actress and Zedd, Gomez’s rumored former boyfriend, were secretly seeing each other.

Dobrev on Reed, Somerhalder wedding

Apparently, there was never any bad blood between Dobrev, Somerhalder, and her former beau’s new wife, Nikki Reed. According to Dobrev, they are all pretty close friends.

“When I heard about the wedding, I thought it was beautiful,” Dobrev told E! Online. “They look happy and I am happy. So, I do not see why there should be a problem with that. The drama is in the media. It is not with us.”

It would appear that Dobrev has completely moved on from her former boyfriend and has no bitter feelings towards his marriage with the “Twilight” actress.

“But, of course, we are on a teen drama show; everyone is going to look for drama. If there is no drama, there is nothing to write about. I just ignore it.”

“I love him and the friendship is still strong,” Dobrev revealed. “I think he is great and I care about him. That did not change. Yes, we are professional and that is fine. We were friends long before we dated. We still are now.”

“We did not break up because anything bad happened or because there was no love or friendship,” she added.
