iOS Web Browsers Review & Features: Which is the Fastest, Easiest and Most Secure?
With all of the different options for web browsers, it is hard to know which one to go with. That said, there is certainly one that fits your needs and habits. Check out our list below:
Safari
Apple's stock browser is really easy to use, plus it comes preloaded with every iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Safari was given a much needed facelift when iOS 7 was released. Among the many great features are: solid integration with your iMac, Mac Pro or MacBook computers, the ability to open more pages than before, iCloud support, and a private browsing mode. Safari will sync your data on your computer with your mobile devices and vice-versa.
Google Chrome
Using Chrome on iOS is the perfect way to enjoy the powerful Google Apps ecosystem alongside Apple's superior industrial design. With Google Chrome you have a fast, fluid and up-to-date browser at all times. Chrome features tabbed browsing which in my opinion is a major time saver when compared to Safari's multitasking system. Like Safari, Chrome saves your website data in the cloud. Just download the Chrome app on your phone, sign into google and your computer website data/tabs etc. will appear. Services like Google Docs and Gmail work best with Chrome browser as well.
Opera Mini
Opera Mini is a smart browser choice for people who don't have unlimited data plans on their phone or tablet (i.e. most everyone.) Opera Mini is able to save your from going over your data allotment by compressing website data. In fact, you'll use just 10 percent of your data when compared to other browsers. And if you're in a rush you'll love that pages and tabs load quicker than other browsers. You can also save your favorite sites (think top sites like in Safari) via Speed Dial.
Atomic Web Browser
The Atomic Web Browser isn't going to win any pinup awards. It's garish to look at, but it does provide iOS users with full-screen tabbed browsing, an ad-blocker and a download manager among other features. Unlike the previous browsers mentioned Atomic features both paid and free versions. The paid version is $1.99. According to Toms Guide the last time the app was updated was over a year ago though.
Firefox
Sadly, Firefox isn't available on iOS devices due to "limitations." It's available for download on Mac computers though. It's also available on Android devices as well.
