Actor Matt Damon has weighed in on best friend Ben Affleck's character in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, saying that his own character of Jason Bourne could give Batman a beat-down.

According to E! NewsDamon and Affleck have been friends for quite some time now and even shared the glory of winning an Oscar back in 1998 for their screenplay "Good Will Hunting." Since then, they have both gone on to become two of Hollywood's most successful leading men and have made quite a name for themselves on the awards circuit.

But when it comes down to that good old fashioned American rivalry, Damon weighed in on what he thought the results of a Batman vs Jason Bourne matchup would look like.

"Jason Bourne would kick the s--t out of Batman -- absolutely!" Damon told E! News. "Batman's gotta take on Superman first. If he could beat him then maybe he could take on Jason Bourne."

This was at the Toronto Film Festival this year while Damon was busy promoting his new movie "The Martian." He is also set to reprise his role as Jason Bourne in the fifth "Bourne" film coming to theaters soon.

Of course this is just a whole lot of fun the two poke at each other from time to time in the media. But that also has fans clamoring for some sort of staged event for the two characters to face off.

There is also speculation that with Damon being such good friends with Affleck, maybe he has been privy to the voice his best friend will use while in the character of Batman.

"I haven't been like, 'Come on, dude, just do it once,'" Damon comically told E!. "I haven't asked him to talk Batman yet, but now maybe I will."
