There's an upcoming flagship smartphone from Japan called the Fujitsu Arrows NX F-02H. Its moniker might be well-suited for a Terminator villain but the device's specs are no laughing matter.

Phone Arena noted that the Arrows NX F-02H has a 5.4-inch IPS-NEO screen with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, the Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM. All these contained in an 8-millimeter-thick body.

The handset's native storage capacity wasn't disclosed although it flaunts an above average 3,390mAh battery. Camera-wise, there's a rear-facing 21.5 megapixel Sony Exmor RS camera and a front-facing 2.4-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Arrows NX F-02H supports rapid charging and iris scanning technology while running Android 5.1 right out the box. It also promises to be durable since Fujitsu took extra measures to ensure the device would be close to military-grade as possible.

The Japanese electronics company created the handset in such a way that it would comply with several MIL-STD-810G standard requirements in the US. This means the device is certified dust and water-resistant.

Durability is something Fujitsu can make a name for in North America as dozens of mobile makers from Asia are starting to expand in the West. Fujitsu must contend with the likes of HTC, Huawei, and soon Xiaomi.

The China-based mobile giant might soon brandish its wares in the U.S., having branched out in India earlier this year and have even produced its first made-in-India device in the form of the Redmi Note 2 Prime.

According to WSJ via CNBC, Xiaomi boss Bin Lin said the company plans to sell its Mi Note and Mi Note Pro smartphones in the U.S. Xiaomi also sells other electronic goods such as electric scooters, TVs, home routers and air conditioning machines. Despite all that, Lin reiterated that he sees his company as an Internet firm first that coincidentally sells other electronic services.

"We are really focusing on smartphones at the center of all the devices that we launch. Consumers will enjoy all the services we provide through the phone," said Lin.

Only time can tell if Fujitsu's heavy-duty devices can compete with Xiaomi's extensive array of tech offerings.

In the meantime, the Arrows NX F-02H will be available in Japan as a DoCoMo-exclusive starting early November. Pricing and global availability have yet to be reported.

DoCoMo is one of the biggest mobile services provider in Japan, if not the biggest.
