X-Men Days of Future Past Cast and Movie News: Features Give Viewers Insight Into Ellen Page's Kitty Pryde Character [WATCH]
With the release of X-Men Days of Future Past less than a month away, Fox has decided to steer away from its tightlipped, mini teaser marketing and open the floodgates of information. This latest series of featurettes is sure to build the hype for the new film even further.
In the Pringles-sponsored videos, we hear from director Bryan Singer about the process of making what he describes as the biggest X-Men film to date, and the biggest project he's ever worked on. Dubbing the movie an "inbetweenquel," Days of Future Past will weave the timelines of the First Class prequel with the original X-Men trilogy.
One video focuses on Ellen Page's character Kitty Pryde, known to some comic book fans as the mutant Shadowcat. In addition to Kitty's ability to phase through physical objects, the new movie grant's the young heroine a new power that sets the stage for the film's time-traveling premise.
"She has the ability to send a person's consciousness back in time to their younger self," says Ellen Page in the feature. "In this post-apocalyptic war era, the X-Men are being pursued by the Sentinels, so they develop a plan to send someone back in time."
Kitty's power limits her to sending a person back a couple of weeks, as any longer would weaken a person's mind. However, Wolverine's regeneration abilities make him a prime candidate for a trip to the past.
Even so, Wolverine still has to complete the mission before a tiring Kitty Pryde loses her hold.
In the other videos, we're bought behind the scenes to explore some of the film's iconic sets, such as Professor Xavier's mansion. You can check all of them out below.
