Fifth Harmony Talk Breaking up in Coming Years
In a recent interview, pop group Fifth Harmony revealed that they may be headed for a split after five more years.
While in Madrid for their European tour in November, the group sat down for an interview with EuropaFM. During the interview, they were asked a variety of questions from fans.
When asked where they see themselves in five years, Dinah Jane Hansen made the shocking revelation that, at that point in their careers, the group members may have gone their separate ways.
"We've been together for basically three years now and looking back ... we're very, very ... happy with where we're at right now," Hansen said. "But from here on out, we want to hopefully win a couple more awards together ... maybe build more music together as well. But I feel like we'll probably go our separate ways later on. That's the truth."
This isn't the first time that the group has been the subject of split rumors. Camila Cabello caused a lot of panic when she spoke about a possible split in the November issue of Latina Magazine.
Cabello was asked whether the group would eventually break up, since fellow pop group One Direction announced their hiatus after losing a member.
"We'd be lying if we all said this is a picture-perfect thing, like we all completely agreed on the album track list and what the sound and the music video treatment would be like, which usually happens in bands who grew up together," she said. "But for manufactured bands, it's harder."
After the quote came out and fans began to question the group's future, the pop singers shared photos of themselves in the recording studio on their Instagram account to let fans know that they shouldn't worry because new music was on the way.
"Positive vibes in the studio. So excited for round 2! We're not goin nowhere," they captioned the photo.
The group is currently working on their sophomore album, which may include a few collaborations. One Direction is rumored to be featured on the girl group's new album, due out in 2016.
