'Star Wars: Episode VII' News, Spoilers: Oscar Isaac Talks Filming in Guatemala
Oscar Isaac has revealed new spoilers about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
During the "The Force Awakens'" Global Press Day conference, Isaac revealed that a portion of the hotly anticipated film was shot in his home country of Guatemala. The news was revealed on Variety Latino's Twitter account.
However, the actor did not go into specifics as to what parts of the film were shot in the country or how many days were shot there. According to IMDb, other locations for the film included Scotland, New Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Iceland, Ireland and England.
During the Global Press Day, the first poster of Isaac's Poe Dameron was also revealed. The actor's picture is very different from the other posters that have appeared, as Isaac is against a black background and both his eyes are visible. It is also the first time that Isaac has been seen doing press for the film, as he has been busy working on other projects.
Isaac has had a big year. Earlier he garnered acclaim for his role in "Ex Machina," which went on to win the British Independent Film Award and became a box office hit. He also shot the third X-Men film. This winter, the actor will be seen in "Mojave," which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and of course, in "The Force Awakens."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" also stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Max Von Sydow and Lupita Nyong'o. Disney has kept the plot of the film extremely secretive. No critics have been able to see it, and Disney did not send screeners to awards organizations such as the Screen Actors Guild and the Golden Globes. All press that attended the Global Press Day were not allowed to see the film in order to keep the ending a surprise.
The film will be released on Dec. 18 and has already made over $50 million in pre-sales, according to Variety.
