Batman vs. Superman Movie Cast News and Update: Warner Bros. Adds More To Cast; Ben Affleck Working Out For Superhero Role
Since getting the part of Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel that will begin filming this month, Ben Affleck has been working out to get his body to superhero status or so his personal trainer told the Twittersphere on Tuesday.
Nutritionist and fitness instructor Rehan Jalali was Affleck's personal trainer leading up to the filming of 2010's The Town, which Affleck starred in and directed, according to Superhero Hype.
Jalali took part in a Twitter Q&A on Tuesday and was asked what Affleck's workout goal was for the film. Jalali responded that the star wants to look like he's a real superhero.
"Big muscular yet lean and good body symmetry!" Jalali exclaimed. "Going for the Real-life superhero look!"
Jalali later added the following day that "Batman is getting Large! He's working very hard! #Dedication #Excited #DarkKnight #BatFleck #TheSixPackDietPlan."
In other news about the tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman epic, which will also include Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman along with Henry Cavill reprising his title role as Superman, Warner Bros. announced the latest additions to the cast.
On Thursday, the studio announced that Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter, 300: Rise of An Empire star Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto of last year's The Wolverine have signed on to join the cast of the May 6, 2016 film.
According to the press release, all three actors are going to play characters newly created for the movie.
The film's director Zack Snyder said he was excited to work with the newest additions and that he has been a fan of Hunter for a while.
"Holly has always been one of my favorite actresses; she has immense talent and is always captivating on screen," Snyder said.
He also talked about Mulvey, who he "just had the good fortune to work with" on the latest 300 installment and was "very impressed with his incredible talent."
