The second generation Samsung Galaxy A smartphones will debut this month in China. The rest of the world will have to wait until sometime in early 2016 to get their hands on the new handsets. If a Dutch retailer is to be believed, the goods will arrive in Europe in the first half of January.

GalaxyClub is currently taking pre-orders for the Galaxy A3 (2016) and A5 (2016). The e-commerce website indicated that orders will be delivered starting Jan. 8. The Galaxy A3 is priced at the equivalent of $360 while the A5 costs $380. As of the moment, It's still unclear if the Galaxy A7 (2016) will also be available in Europe.

Specs of the A3 include a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED screen carrying a 720 x 1280 resolution display, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory with micro-SD expansion and a 2,300 mAh battery. An unspecified quad-core CPU is on board towing its own in-house GPU. In the camera department, there's a 13-megapixel rear-facing unit and a five-megapixel selfie snapper, PhoneArena reported.

Meanwhile, the A5 sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED 1080 x 1920 display, an octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable native storage and a 2,900 mAh dry cell. Its 13-megapixel back camera features OIS and an f/1.9 aperture. Its five-megapixel front-facing unit also has an f/1.9 aperture, similar to the Galaxy S6.

Unlike the A3, the A5 is fitted with a fingerprint sensor capable of Magnetic Secure Transmission. The functionality imitates the magnetic strip on payment cards. Consumers also have the option of picking up a dual-SIM variant of the A5.

As for the A7, it has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1080 x 1920 Full HD display and an octa-core processor that boots Android 5.1 straight out the box. It tips the scale at 172 grams and measures 7.3 millimeters thick.

The largest handset of the bunch contains 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal memory. It also includes a bulkier 3,300 mAh battery that supports Fast Charging.

GSMArena pointed out that the A7 has the exact same camera combo, fingerprint sensor and dual-SIM option as the A5.

The second generation Samsung Galaxy A smartphones come in a metal and glass chassis with slightly sharper outlines than the Galaxy S6. All three have thinner bezels and thicker bodies than their namesake predecessors. Both the A5 and A7 are equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the home key. This allows them to perform Samsung Pay transactions, per the Korean mobile maker's online press release.
