While it flies under the radar of the more well-known brands, Xiaomi has marked itself as one of the top performers in the market. The upcoming flagship model Xiaomi Mi 5 highlights the Chinese company's ability to provide great power with great value as it received a whopping 101,339 score in an AnTuTu simulator test.

According to a report from Phone Arena, the new handset achieved the impressive number sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC under the hood. The recently released chipset has performed admirably in tests so far, although Samsung's Exynos 8890 chipset blew competition out of the water having recently scored 103,92 in the AnTuTu benchmark test.

The excitement for Xiaomi Mi 5 is growing as of late, with reports revealing the look and specs of the new smartphone ahead of its release date. According to Gizmo China, a new render has leaked online giving fans of Xiaomi an idea of what their new favorite handset will look like once it debuts.

Sleek and smooth, the Mi 5 maintains the same aesthetic of its predecessor save for a physical home button in front of the device. The phone will also reportedly come with a 5.2-inch screen with Force Touch technology and an all-metal design.

As the company's premiere device, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is well equipped with impressive specifications from top to bottom. The sharp display will feature 2K resolution and the handset is backed with either 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory or 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The cameras will also get an upgrade with a 21-megapixel rear snapper and an eight-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. To cap off the powerful device, it's expected to run with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 7 on top.

A separate report from Gizmo China revealed more details about the fingerprint sensor of the flagship phone. Analyst Pan Jiutang said that Xiaomi will not be incorporating the new Qualcomm UltraSonic Fingerprint Scanner on their newest smartphone.

This new scanning technology does not require a single sensor or button to detect fingerprints. Instead, the UltraSonic Fingerprint Scanner can utilize multiple spots -- such as the smartphone display -- for fingerprint recognition, making the experience smoother and quicker for the device users. However, Jiutang said the technology isn't stable enough to power the newest set of flagship units.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to be launched on Jan. 21, 2016. It will reportedly be available for sale soon after in February.
