Avengers 2 'Age of Ultron' Movie News, Release Date, Cast Rumors: Are Robert Downey and Chris Evans Retiring?
The second installation of the Avengers is hitting the big screen next year. The planned date of release will take place on May 15, 2015. The story was written and directed by Joss Whedon. Popular cast members during the first installation are back. This includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Samuel Jackson and many others. Several of the actors had just gotten done filming for the Captain America: Winter Soldier.
The new movie is entitled The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The story revolves around the superheroes reuniting with two newcomers, including Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. They are tasked with battling against the new antagonist in the story, UItron. However, even as they have to fight with Ultron, they also have to fight the conflicts rising within the team. The new members of the team also have some indifference towards the rest of the team.
With the growing number of avengers, the main villain, Ultron, played by James Spader, also needs to have some backup to fight against the strongest team on Earth. In this movie, Robert Downey Jr. will be wearing his Iron Man suit for the fifth time. This role did not just make his career bigger, but has also launched a successful global film franchise which has in fact earned billions of dollars since the first Iron Man movie. As the oldest member of the Avengers, there were speculations that he might be abandoning the role soon. He is set to make two more Avenger films, including the Age of Ultron. Chris Evans has also expressed his intention to retire from acting, and so there might be someone new to replace his role in the future.
According to Downey Jr., this sequel is very ambitious and dense. Scarlett Johansson also said that it is darker and more cerebral. It is also expected that each member of the team will have a longer onscreen appearance. With the success of the first Avengers movie, there is quite a bit at stake with this new film.
