There will be lots of holiday cheer and drama during the midseason finale of "Jane the Virgin" on Monday.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode, which is titled "Chapter Thirty," reveals that Jane and Rafael will bump heads as they approach baby Mateo's first Christmas. There is also a clip in the trailer video of the parents arguing while they are standing in line to take a family photo at the Santa Claus station at a mall.

"Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are still at odds with each other as they are about to celebrate Mateo's first Christmas. Jane discovers that the scholarship she thought she had been awarded isn't quite that and now needs to find a way to pay for grad school. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) has employed an intern and is having trouble trusting him. Petra (Yael Grobglas) is struggling with the latest dilemma her mother has gotten them into. Meanwhile, Michael (Brett Dier) is trying to find Luisa's mother who he now suspects is not dead and may be involved with Sin Rostro," reads the synopsis, according to Spoiler TV.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrea Navedo opened up about her character, Xo, and what's to come in the holiday-themed episode.

"It's a Christmas episode, so there's a lot about family," said the actress, making note of the strong family dynamic between the Villanueva women. "But of course, things go wrong," she added with a laugh. "There's a scene where Jane tells Santa off. She gets into a fight with Santa Clause."

When asked to elaborate about the contention that will occur between Jane and Rafael, Navedo teased that the conflict between the two will spark after a Christmas tradition "rekindles something between Jane and Michael."

The series star also talked about Xo's relationship with Rogelio, who is now living paycheck to paycheck.

"He's still the same, egocentric guy. But he's trying to get ahead on his own laurels, and Xo is trying to keep him on the straight and narrow, helping him to not overspend," she said.

Season 2, Episode 9 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Dec. 14 on The CW.
