If a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Gennady Golovkin fight is staged, Freddie Roach believes that Mayweather will beat the ferocious "Triple G."

The world-class trainer shares this prediction on Fight Hype. For him, if the two unbeaten boxers meet and clash inside the ring, it is the younger fighter who will bow to the veteran one because he has a lot of experience dealing with great fighters like Golovkin in his lifetime.

"Floyd outboxes him...he's never been knocked out in a professional fight yet...what makes this guy any different...Floyd's faced a lot of good punchers in his lifetime," stated Roach.

The Hall of Fame trainer has admired the young knockout master. On his interview with Fight Hub, he clearly declares that he is a big fan of Golovkin. Yet, he sees him having some flaws and even fancied seeing his Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Cotto beating him.

"I don't think he's [GGG] invincible. I know it's a hard fight, I know he's a good puncher and I know all that. But I think it's a very good fight for the fans and for everyone in the world," the trainer said about a possible Cotto-Golovkin battle, Boxing Scene noted.

Indeed, Mayweather had no problems dealing with great punchers in the past, including the eight-division world champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, whom he defeated via a unanimous decision on May 2 in Las Vegas, per BoxRec. With his defensive style of boxing, Mayweather dodged several hard blows thrown by "Pacman." He also reigned supreme against elite boxers like Oscar De la Hoya, Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez, making him undefeated even after 49 fights.

However, for Golovkin's coach Abel Sanchez, "GGG" would not just beat Mayweather by a decision if they collide, it would be via a stoppage, On the Ropes Boxing Radio reported in August.

"If it happens, I can promise you this, it won't be a May 2nd fight, Golovkin will stop him," Sanchez said.

Sanchez also believes that Mayweather's fight on Sept. 12 with former titleholder Andre Berto will not be his last. The "too much of a historian and too much of a businessman" side of "The Money" will not allow that and will yearn to not be tied with Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record. Sanchez believes that "he's going to look for challenges beyond that."

Although fans may be excited to see a Mayweather vs. Golovkin battle, for former super featherweight champion Mikey Garcia, it is just a mismatch because the belong to different weight classes, Bad Left Hook noted.
