NBA Fantasy Basketball Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups: Omri Casspi, Matt Barnes, Kevin Martin on the List
The competition is already heating up as the 2015-16 NBA Fantasy Basketball enters its eighth week. Here are some of the players available in most leagues who deserves a look in the coming week.
Omri Casspi - Sacramento Kings
Omri Casspi, who is owned in just 31 percent of all leagues, is taking advantage of his increased minutes and fantasy owners should give him a serious look in all standard leagues.
Casspi averaged 10.0 points to go along with 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in their last two games. He played 40.5 minutes during the span and is expected to get the same amount of playing time in their upcoming games with Willie Cauley-Stein nursing a hand injury.
Matt Barnes - Memphis Grizzlies
Matt Barnes is also worth a look in all leagues after the veteran forward was inserted into the starting lineup on Sunday. Barnes started in place of Zach Randolph during 100-97 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday, where he posted 13 points and 13 rebounds to go along with four assists, two steals and a block with three three-pointers.
Barnes, who is available in 85 percent of all fantasy leagues, averaged 10.7 points and 10.3 rebounds during their last three games. During that span, he also racked up a total of eight three-pointers, eight assists, three steals and two blocks for the Grizzlies.
Kevin Martin - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kevin Martin struggled to get into his rhythm early in the season, but fantasy owners who are looking for scoring help should consider picking him from the waiver wire.
Martin was too hot to handle in their last three games, where he averaged 26.0 points on 45.8 percent shooting from the field. He also knocked down 10 three-pointers during the span and also posted 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists. It should be noted that the Timberwolves have four games in the coming week.
Allen Crabbe - Portland Trail Blazers
Allen Crabbe is making a lot of noise for the Portland Trail Blazers. He averaged 14.4 points to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers over their last five games. Fantasy owners who have room for experiment should take a long look and see if the 23-year-old can sustain his impressive performances.
Jon Leuer - Phoenix Suns
Jon Leuer was also productive in his last five outings, where he posted 12.4 points and 7.2 rebounds to go along with 1.0 block and 1.0 steal. Tyson Chandler has returned from injury, though, which could affect Leuer's production and minutes moving forward.
