Soccer Transfer: Real Madrid to Offer James Rodriguez to Chelsea for Eden Hazard?
Real Madrid is currently third behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the La Liga table. Los Blancos are reportedly planning on a transfer move for Chelsea's out of form superstar Eden Hazard with Jose Mourinho wanting James Rodriguez in return.
According to Spanish news outlet Don Balon via Goal.com, Madrid still have a lot of interest in Hazard and believe that he will find his form in England while James is reportedly unhappy with manager Rafael Benitez since returning from injury.
Benitez is reportedly keeping James on the sidelines because of being overweight, favoring Gareth Bale. The Colombian international wants a move out of Spain to get away from the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 24-year-old is still a world class talent and if he makes his move to Stamford Bridge, he is viewed as one of the best players in the Premier League already, per Bleacher Report.
According to The Telegraph, James is worth around £58 million while Hazard is currently valued by Chelsea at £75 million. The Belgian international is still one of the best young players in the world of football despite not finding his form this season after leading Chelsea to the Premier League Title last year.
Four Four Two notes that the Hazard is currently lacking confidence and his fall from grace this season is very heartbreaking. His poor form has resulted to a lot of criticism, which leads to a more self-conscious approach when he is on the field.
He has failed to score since May 3 and is one of the missing contributors in Chelsea's woeful campaign. It was not long ago that Mourinho called Hazard the best player in England and the third-best player in the world behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I ask myself what I can do to become like Messi and Ronaldo, and score 50 or 60 goals in a season. I try but I realise that I will never be a true scorer. It is not in me. It is mainly mental. If I can score between 15 and 20 goals each season, I will be very happy," Hazard told Belgian news outlet Foot Magazine in September as translated by Four Four Two.
As for Madrid, they are planning to bring back Mesut Ozil if James leaves this January or in the summer. Ozil was sold to Arsenal in 2013 and is currently in the best form of his career with 12 assists and two goals in the season, per 90Min.
