Good things take time and it seems "Fable Legends" is one as developer Lionhead announces that the game will not be making its open beta debut anytime soon. The action-adventure RPG was initially thought to be launched within the holiday season, but now the team confirmed its delay.

According to an official report on the "Fable Legends" website, the open beta will be coming in spring of 2016 instead.

Creative director David Eckelberry spoke up in behalf of the Lionhead group to officially confirm the delay of the game's open beta. In a YouTube video, the executive apologized to the players eagerly awaiting the release of the much-anticipated game, but assured the delay was to offer the best experience possible upon the launch of "Fable Legends".

"As many of you remember, we said that 'Fable Legends' will be available for everyone to play this holiday," Eckelberry began. "I'm sorry to say for all of you who have been waiting, you're gonna have to wait just a little bit longer."

He continued, "Right now 'Fable Legends' is coming together well and it's a lot of fun, but we think we can make it even better. That means adding some additional features and elements of polish that we feel can make a real difference. And it also means that we're spending more time listening to feedback from our closed beta players to make sure that their voices are heard."

The Lionhead executive admitted that the team behind the game didn't expect the massive depth of "Fable Legends," saying that it's the "most ambitious" project of the company to date.

"To be honest with you, we rather underestimated just how big of a game 'Fable Legends' is becoming," he acknowledged. "We really created two games at once. We've got a multiplayer RPG on one side and a kind of RTS on the other. On top of that, we built a new world and a whole new story to tell. This is the most ambitious game we've ever done at Lionhead and it's taking more time than we thought."

He praised the people behind the game saying, "Our team is working hard to ensure we get the experience of 'Fable Legends' correct. We're proud of how far the game has come and we can't wait to open it up for all of you to play."

"We're nearly there," Eckelberry assured.

The closed multiplayer beta is currently operating 24/7, and players may sign up for the chance to play at the official "Fable Legends" website.
