Donald Trump Books ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ For First Post-Debate Appearance
After what is nearly guaranteed to be an explosive debate tonight, Republican front-runner and presidential hopeful Donald Trump has officially booked his first post-debate appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
According to Deadline, Trump had previously been scheduled to go on "JKL" in October this year but canceled on the ABC late night host the night before. Kimmel then turned his cancellation against him and made public comical jokes all over his character and political ambitions.
With everything that has been going on with Trump in the Presidential race, most notably his highly controversial remarks calling for a ban on Muslims to enter the U.S., tonight's debate is sure to be a ratings juggernaut for CNN. The network has also inserted itself into the news when it called out and rejected Trump's demand that he be paid $5 million for his appearance on the debate.
He will then follow up the next night on "Kimmel," and there is sure to be no doubt he will be met with a few words at his own expense and possibly a comical sparring match between the two.
Trump's star power in the political arena has been soaring through the roof, even more so here lately with his antics in the media and online with social media.
In national polls, Trump has quite a commanding lead over his opponents, which puts him at 41 percent, towering over his closest challengers in the Republican field.
His comments about the Muslim ban have drawn the ire of not just Democrats or others on the left but more vocally from his own party. Nearly all of his opponents in the Presidential race have condemned his rhetoric, and they have been joined by newly elected speaker of the House, Paul Ryan.
Trump has also threatened a third party run should he not make it on the Republican ticket next fall at the general election, signifying he is willing to do anything to accomplish his signature campaign strategy, "winning."
