Wednesday’s chance to win big money playing Powerball is here.

The grand prize is currently at $180 million, with a cash value of $112.1 million.

Last Saturday’s winning numbers were 2, 14, 19, 30, and 62, and the Powerball was 22. There were regular 704,088 winners, and $7,404,738 in non-jackpot money was won.

Although winning the lottery is a sure way to change one's lifestyle, that does not mean a winner's personality will be altered much at all.

As Finances Online reports, in 2012 a California man named John Ross Jr. was arrested and eventually jailed for assisting in a car theft just a few months after winning $2 million in the California lottery. When Ross came into his winnings he told the media that what he really wanted to do with his cash was buy a car.

In 2002, a British lottery winner named Michael Carroll decided to blow a good chunk of his $15 million prize on lavish demolition derby parties. Aside from just watching cars get wrecked for entertainment, Carroll also spent his money on drugs and women and even landed himself in jail a couple of times amid all the reckless fun.

In that same year a lottery a winner from West Virginia named Jack Whittaker managed to lose $545,000 by simply leaving the unattended cash in a suitcase in his car outside of a strip club.

Whittaker, who was already a wealthy man when he won $315 million in a Powerball drawing, said he was carrying around the suitcase of cash just because he could.

According to Boston.com one of the most important things a lottery winner can do is stay quite about the win. Aside from this, a winner should assemble a financial team as soon as possible.
