Louisiana Congressman Vance McAllister has landed himself in hot water following a leaked video showing McAllister in a passionate embrace with one of his staff members.

The video, sent to the Ouachita Citizen by an anonymous source, dates back to Dec. 23, just over a month after McAllister assumed office as Louisiana's 5th Congressional District.

The woman in the video is 33-year-old Anne Hixon Peacock, who worked as McAllister's district scheduler and is reportedly married. As we all know, McAllister is also married to Kelly Duncan McAllister, whom he wed in 1997.

Ironically enough, and prior to the leaked security footage, McAllister was known for his strong family values during his run for office.

According to the Citizen, both Peacock and her husband contributed to Vance's campaign, and the congressman worked at, and attended, the same high school as Peacock's husband.

In the video, we see McAllister shutting the lights to his office as he appears to be getting ready to go home. Peacock then appears in the camera's view and heads for the door. But before the two make their exit, we see them in a long embrace. Finally, McAllister and Peacock exit the office and walk out of the building together.

Since the shocking news of his infidelity, McAllister has issued a statement of apology.

"There's no doubt I've fallen short and I'm asking for forgiveness. I'm asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff, and my constituents who elected me to serve."

He continued, "Trust is something I know has to be earned whether you're a husband, a father, or a congressman. I promise to do everything I can to earn back the trust of everyone I've disappointed. From day one, I've always tried to be an honest man. I ran for Congress to make a difference and not to just be another politician. I don't want to make a political statement on this. I would just simply like to say that I'm very sorry for what I've done. While I realize I serve the public, I would appreciate the privacy given to my children as we get through this."
