Netflix Socks Automatically Pause Movies and Shows When Users Fall Asleep [Watch]
Netflix viewers are known for binge-watching TV series and movies for hours at a time. Now, there is a pair of socks that will ensure that viewers do not miss any content if they fall asleep during one of these binge sessions.
Netflix introduced special sensors that go into socks that will detect a viewer's movements and pause the program they are watching when it is detected that they are sleeping.
Netflix has provided all of the instructions for users to make their custom socks a reality. Socks with sensors already built into them will not be available on store shelves or online, but Netflix shows users how to make their own pair.
The accelerometer will detect when a Netflix viewer has stopped moving for a period of time. Before the socks actually engage the pause feature on Netflix, a light in the cuff will warn the viewer that the pause is coming. If the viewer is still awake and sees the light in the cuff of the socks, they can wave their foot to prevent the pausing from happening.
Netflix lists out all of the parts that viewers need to purchase and where they can purchase them. Then, viewers will have to follow the directions to make the electronics work.
This is the second do-it-yourself project that Netflix has introduced in the past few months. Earlier, Netflix introduced the "Netflix Switch," which dims the lights, orders takeout, puts the user's phone on do not interrupt mode and boots up Netflix.
Netflix followed up the Netflix Switch with the socks since hours of eating takeout food, dim lights and binge watching of popular TV series can get tiring.
With some basic skills in electronics and a few easy stitches, Netflix fans can have their own pair of special socks.
