New Xbox One Backwards Compatible Games: New List Includes ‘Halo: Reach’, ‘Fable 3’ & More
Christmas is coming and the Xbox team is keeping the holiday treats rolling with more backwards compatible games dropping on Xbox One. Microsoft isn't holding back with popular titles making the lineup as the year draws to an end including "Halo: Reach," "Fables 3" and more.
According to Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb's blog, 16 new Xbox 360 titles are now available for playing on Xbox One through the backwards compatibility feature.
Aside from "Halo: Reach" and "Fables 3," the recently released backwards compatible games are "Braid," "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," "Doritos Crash Course," "Hydro Thunder," "Iron Brigade," "Kane & Lynch 2," "Motocross Madness," "Ms. Pac-Man," "Peggie," "Portal: Still Alive," "Spelunky," "Splosion Man," "Ticket to Ride" and "Zuma's Revenge."
The complete lineup of the Xbox backwards compatible games are posted at the Xbox official website.
"And this is just the beginning," Hryb pointed out in the blog. "We're continuing to work with our publishing partners to grow our library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles, so stay tuned for more."
He added that those who want a specific game on Xbox One can vote for it on the Xbox feedback page saying, "Fan feedback is essential in shaping the Xbox Experience, and it was integral in making Xbox One Backward Compatibility a reality."
As previously reported by Latin Post, Xbox One and Xbox 360 games are also available on sale as part of the company's Games with Gold program. Popular franchises may be purchased at great discounts such as "Star Wars Battlefront" for Xbox One and "Battlefield 4 Premium" for Xbox 360, among others.
Hryb also reminded in his blog that the Xbox 360 games that are available in Games with Gold after Nov. 12 are all playable in the latest console through backwards compatibility, so players who do not own the best-selling titles of Xbox 360 can now purchase it for a good deal through the Gold program.
The company is capping off an eventful year with the great sales this holiday season. Next year will be just as full for the Xbox team. According to a report from Video Gamer, Microsoft marketing executive Yusuf Mehdi recently talked about the success of Xbox and how it's expected to continue to 2016.
"And there we've had probably the best year we've ever had for Xbox," he explained. "And it's on the back of the greatest games lineup in Xbox history. So if you like to game, this is the year to get an Xbox. We have 'Halo 5' launching. We have 'Minecraft' on Xbox. We have 'Gears of War,' 'Tomb Raider.'"
Mehdi added, "The best lineup; next year will also be the best lineup. That's led to really a great success on it."
