Will Ferrell Featured as Modern Santa Claus on 'The Tonight Show'
Just when everybody thought that comedy actor Will Ferrell and his latest appearance at "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon will be the usual one to promote his latest film "Daddy's Home," where he co-stars with Mark Wahlberg, the comedian surprises viewers as he was dressed as the modern Santa Claus.
The famed comedy star, Ferrell was all out in promoting not just his latest film but the new and improved Santa Claus character played by him as a joke. Wearing a sleeveless Santa suit, red-and-white printed shorts, a blonde wig, a goatee and a Bluetooth earpiece, the Hollywood Reporter revealed that the new Santa Claus has arrived.
The audience were cracking up watching the actor be in his character saying, "I'm the new Santa Claus," adding, "Look, brah, the Kris Kringle we all grew up with is old and lame. Dude looks like someone's weird grandpa," he said to the famed late show host.
Ferrell, in his Santa costume, was also accessorized with a camouflage bag that had plenty of T-shirts inside. Hehe later on uses a T-shirt gun to give away shirts because that's just how the new Santa works, according to the news agency. "Kids today are demanding a newer, hipper, more badass Santa Claus. So, uh, you're welcome," Ferrell said.
Furthermore, Ferrell revealed that the new kind of Santa will not be delivering gifts the traditional way but through drones. "Old Santa used to do his reindeer thing, sliding down chimneys, stuffing stockings; that's just not my style," Ferrell continued as quoted by the publication. "It's the year of the drone. You just tell Santa what you want. I punch in some numbers in the computer, check to make sure you're in the drone zone, and you get the special D from Mr. C, case Claus'd," he added.
Meanwhile, Ferrell will reportedly play a father and not Santa Claus for his latest flick with Wahlberg, which will be in theaters on Christmas Day. The Daily Mail reports that Ferrell, who will be a step-father in the film named Brad upon marrying co-star Linda Cardellini, who plays Sarah, the mother of two children Dylan and Megan.
Of course, Ferrell will be in his best efforts to win the hearts of his step-children but it will be a challenge when Wahlberg's character, the children's father named Dusty, comes back to their lives.
