Miley Cyrus Bangerz Tour Shows Update: Adore You Singer's Cancelled Show, Elle Magazine Cover, and Billboard Award Nominations
Leave it to Miley Cyrus to always be the topic of discussion and the topic of headlines. She just "Can't Stop."
The 21-year-old singer left fans disgruntled and disappointed when she failed to show up to her Charlotte, N.C. show on Monday. The announcement of her cancellation was made just thirty minutes before she was scheduled to perform.
"Miley Cyrus' Bangerz tour date scheduled for tonight, April 7, at Time Warner Cable Arena Charlotte has been cancelled. Cyrus has been diagnosed with the flu and doctors have ordered her to rest," read the announcement posted on Time Warner Cable's website and arena.
The announcement was so last minute that fans actually showed up to the area and were turned away.
Though the show was cancelled and fans were left highly upset, refunds have been issued to ticket buyers for the cancelled show according to Ticketmaster and Live Nation reps.
Despite Monday's setback and a tweet that Cyrus posted reading "excruciating pain", Cyrus' Tuesday show in Raleigh, N.C. went off without a hitch and with no signs of illness.
Tuesday's show also had no signs of sadness or mourning in comparison to Cyrus's week-long tearful performances last week in tribute to her dog Floyd that recently passed away.
For those who are unable to see Miley live in concert, you can see her on the cover of Elle's May Women in Music issue that will be available digitally in select cities on April 15 and nationwide on April 22.
In the issue, Cyrus discusses everything from feminism, her connection with her fans, and even her breakups with Liam Hemsworth and Disney.
She says in the issue, "when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn't there to carry me anymore or if I didn't have him. And now I'm free of both of those things, and I'm fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I'm totally okay, and that's so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn't have a boyfriend."
Congrats to Miley on overcoming her anxiety and congrats on her nomination for several Billboard Awards categories including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Social Artist, and more.
