iOS 9.2 Jailbreak News: A New Jailbreak Tool Will Take Some Time
Apple has released two full updates to iOS 9 since the last jailbreak tool has been discovered. With iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2, there have been no jailbreak solutions, and it might be a while before one is discovered.
It was rumored that the Pangu jailbreak team was readying a full jailbreak tool for iOS 9.2, but now it looks like that has been delayed, Gotta Be Mobile reports.
When Pangu released their jailbreak tool for iOS 9, Apple ended up fixing all of the vulnerabilities and exploits in iOS 9.1. Those who stayed with iOS 9 could still have their jailbreak, but if users upgraded, they were unable to have their device jailbroken.
There was no jailbreak solution discovered for iOS 9.1 and then Apple released iOS 9.2. The jailbreak community continues to work on a jailbreak tool for iOS 9.2.
Apple has released a public beta for iOS 9.2.1. If there is an iOS 9.2 jailbreak available and Apple has already patched the exploits in it with iOS 9.2.1, the jailbreak tool should have been released to the public.
If the iOS 9.2.1 beta did not patch up any of the exploits in the jailbreak, then the jailbreak tool from Pangu is likely to be delayed.
When Pangu found out that Apple patched the exploits that they had found in iOS 9 with the iOS 9.1 update, Pangu released their jailbreak tool to the public.
The iOS 9.2.1 update is likely a very small update from Apple with no new features. It might have some security fixes in it that Apple is releasing just in case Pangu releases an iOS 9.2 jailbreak tool. These security fixes could instantly patch up the Pangu iOS 9.2 jailbreak.
The jailbreak community continues to wait for an iOS 9.2 jailbreak solution. Until there is an official jailbreak tool, users should stick with iOS 9.0 so that they can still enjoy a jailbroken device and the tweaks that go along with it.
