The day has finally arrived when the Miss Universe 2015 winner will be crowned. Eighty beautiful women from all over the world graciously showcased their beauties at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, Dec. 20. Unfortunately, the 64th Miss Universe competition ended with a shocking controversy when host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced the winner.

The top three Miss Universe 2015 contestants include Olivia Jordan of U.S.A, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines and Ariadna Gutierrez of Colombia. Miss U.S.A. was crowned as the second runner-up while Philippines was initially announced as first runner-up and Colombia as the winner. However, Harvey, who took full responsibility of the mistake and even showed the result card to the audience as well as on live TV, admitted he misread the results, leaving the audience and the ladies baffled.

With the shocking turn of events, Harvey, who apologized for the embarrassing mistake, announced Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines as the Miss Universe 2015 winner while Colombia's Ariadna Gutierrez was the first runner-up, Rappler noted. Due to the wrong announcement, the venue was filled with a loud combination of boos and cheers. In the end, it was the Philippines who truly won the crown.

Among the pageant's top 10 finalists were U.S.A. (Jordan), Colombia (Gutierrez), Japan (Ariana Miyamoto), Thailand (Aniporn Chalermburanawong), Australia (Monika Radulovic), Dominican Republic (Clarissa Molina), France (Flora Coquerel), Curacao (Kanisha Sluis), Philippines (Wurtzbach) and Venezuela (Mariana Jimenez), Heavy.com revealed.

Meanwhile, the Miss Universe 2015 panel of telecast judges include American football player and former NFL star Emmitt Smith, "Scream Queens" star Niecy Nash, Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and celebrity entertainment personality Perez Hilton, as per The Hollywood Reporter. And the ladies were serenaded by "See You Again" hitmaker Charlie Puth, Grammy Award-winning multi-Platinum singer and songwriter Seal and the Grammy Award-winning sibling trio The Band Perry.
