Who is today's best middleweight fighter in boxing?

Middleweight boxer Jason Quigley picks International Boxing Organization, World Boxing Association and International Boxing Federation titleholder Gennady Golovkin as his top warrior for the said weight class.

"You have to give it to Golovkin as he's proven it. It's not a status that's thrown around 'just because' you can. He's actually shown us he's the best and I learn from him watching all of his fights. I hope one day I can get to grace the ring with him," Quigley told World Boxing News.

Even his fans, including YouTube account user "frank," regard him as the best in his division.

"Best pound per pound middleweight champion of the world today and future Boxing Hall of Fame with the highest knockout record in the middleweight division in boxing history Gennady G Golovkin," wrote the Youtube user.

The fan also has a response to those putting down "Triple G" because he is not fighting Andre Ward.

"The best middleweight 160 lbs is Gennady GGG Golovkin. The best Super middleweight 168 lbs of the world is Andre Ward learn the boxing divisions," he said.

Indeed, the unbeaten Golovkin, who came out of an eighth-round stoppage win against Canadian boxer David Lemieux to capture the IBF crown at the Madison Square Garden in New York on Oct. 17, owns the highest knockout rating, per BoxRec. He reportedly posts a 91 percent KO rating courtesy of his 31 knockout wins out of all his 34 victories.

Another boxing enthusiast, Stephen Fields, thinks another boxer, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is ready to take the spotlight.

"'Canelo' is the best middleweight right now," Fields wrote.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, captured the World Boxing Council crown from the four-time world champion Miguel Cotto on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas via a unanimous decision, per BoxRec. He also had only one loss in his entire career but it was to none other than the undefeated boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September 2013, via a majority decision.

Yet, world-renowned coach Freddie Roach bets on "Triple G," whom he describes as "very clever" to defeat the 25-year-old boxer when they collide, per his Fight Hub interview.

The Hall of Fame trainer even thinks "GGG" as "one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world" currently. However, the only hurdle for Golovkin is that many fighters are afraid to share the ring with him. Thus, he is not able to prove his true worth or potential of being today's "best boxer," Roach explained.

Hopefully, fans will know the answer when they meet in the second half of 2016, per the WBC's ruling, Boxing Scene noted.
