One woman was killed, and dozens of people injured on Sunday after a driver deliberately plowed her vehicle through the crowded Las Vegas strip.

The driver, 24-year-old Lakeisha Holloway of Oregon, swerved onto the pedestrian-filled sidewalk two or three times. She reportedly had her 3-year-old child in the car with her at the time, NBC News reports.

Las Vegas Deputy Police Chief Brett Zimmerman claimed the incident was "not an act of terrorism," but appeared to be intentional. Investigators are seeking a motive in the crime.

The incident occurred on the Strip nearby the Paris Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood hotels, the latter of which was hosting the Miss Universe pageant.

Paris Las Vegas tweeted their condolences to the victims.

Video in the aftermath of the video showed the normally packed Strip closed off and filled with police cars and emergency vehicles.

Police tracked down the suspect's 1996 Oldsmobile to where it was parked at a nearby hotel. The driver was later arrested and is expected to face charges.

The 3-year-old present in the car during the incident was found to be unharmed.

Witnesses said they were taken aback by the car that suddenly veered onto the crowded sidewalk.

"You think it's a show, because you're in Vegas," said tourist Rabia Qureshi to NBC affialiate KSNV. "But then I saw some people fly in the air." She described the vehicle as a bowling ball and the victims as pins.

The woman killed in the tragedy was identified as 32-year-old Jessica Velenzuela of Buckeye, Arizona, according to the Washington Post. She was reportedly visiting Las Vegas with her husband.

Over two dozen people were sent to hospitals for treatment. As of Monday, they are all reportedly in stable condition.

Four of the injured victims were students from Pacific University in Oregon. They were attending a wrestling competition in Las Vegas, according to a statement from the school.
