'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Episode 11 Spoilers: Reid Takes Lead in Dirty Dozen Case, Aubrey Plaza Guest Stars
Fans of "Criminal Minds" can look forward to seeing a lot more of Dr. Spencer Reid, including meeting his new love interest, when the series returns from its winter recess next month.
A synopsis for the midseason premiere, which is titled "Entropy," reveals that Matthew Gray Gubler's character will play a major role in helping the BAU team crack the Dirty Dozen case.
In addition, "Grumpy Cat" actress Aubrey Plaza will guest star as Cat Adams, Reid's new love interest. TVLine reports that Reid's dinner date with Adams will take a drastic turn for the worse, quickly transforming into a game of wits, when she tells him that she is aware that he works as a FBI agent. She will then test how quickly he can think on his feet, pulling out a gun and forcing him to save himself and the other people in the restaurant.
According to CarterMatt, the synopsis for "Entropy" reads, "The BAU implements an elaborate strategy to try and take down the 'Dirty Dozen' hitmen ring, with Reid playing a central role, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Jan. 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Aubrey Plaza guest stars as Cat Adams, Reid's date."
In the last episode of "Criminal Minds," the BAU took on a case involving a killer who used medical experiments on his victims in an effort to stop the aging process. During the midseason finale, the FBI agents went on the hunt to find the amateur doctor obsessed with immortality, who had killed his human guinea pigs, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Apparently, as a child, the unsub was traumatized by an elderly man at a nursing home, causing him to become fixated on finding a cure to old age. To do that, he performed blood transfusions on his subjects and used the DNA from animals with long lifespans to try to create a "fountain of youth" remedy.
Eventually, the BAU tracked him down and arrested him, as he was in the middle of performing a heart transplant.
Season 11 Episode 11 of "Criminal Minds" will premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
