Top 10 Latina Beauties Who Got With Famous Rappers and Ballers
Latinas and rappers and ballers go together like mofongo y gandules... inevitably, whenever you see a good-looking Latina woman, she'll be on the arm of a money-dropping, high-profile gettin'-money baller and/or rapper. Naya Rivera of Glee is just the most recent Latina to get with a rapper -- Big Sean -- and even though it ended badly, it still was high-profile enough to get noticed by the general market.
Naya Rivera aside, here are the top 10 Latina beauties who got with rappers and ballers:
10. Tahiry Jose: before her stint on Love & Hip-Hop, Tahiry was known strictly as a "booty model" who got with all types of rappers and ballers. Her "body count" includes Joe Budden, Fabolous, J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks, and Bow Wow. But what Tahiry is most famous for, especially these days, is for her rumored "secret marriage."
9. Tammy Rivera: she's a "regular girl" originally from Baltimore who's due to be on the upcoming season of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta. Reason being? She's engaged to Brick Squad rapper Waka Flocka Flame! Of course, Tammy -- who has a daughter from a previous relationship -- won't be without her fair share with drama: her soon-to-be mother-in-law Deb Antney has already admitted to not liking her! Could we have another "Mama Jones" situation on our hands this season?
8. Evelyn Lozada: This is the "Basketball Wife" that everyone loves to hate. But she has quite an impressive history with ballers: Lozada was engaged to NBA star Antoine Walker with whom she had a 10-year relationship. On July 4, 2012, she married NFL star Chad Johnson (whose name was Chad Ochocinco at that time) in Saint Martin, whom she had been courting and whose courtship was shown on Basketball Wives. The couple divorced on Sept. 19, 2012. In December 2013, Lozada announced her engagement to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford. Lozada has a son with Crawford and an adult daughter from a previous relationship.
7. Cyn Santana: Another Love & Hip-Hop star, she was previously linked to Drake before getting with Love & Hip-Hop co-star Erica Mena... though some people say it's all for publicity. The model has also been featured in such "booty magazines" as Smooth prior to getting her big break on the hit VH1 show.
6. Daphne Joy: this lovely Latina is an accomplished working actress (appearing, most notably, in Pirates of the Caribbean), and for the longest time, she had a "is she or isn't she" relationship with G-Unit helmsman Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. But as TMZ reported, their "on the low" relationship all came to the forefront when Daphne accused Fif of domestic assault. Not long thereafter, the couple started sharing photos of their son, Sire, on Instagram.
5. Tammy Torres: "The infamous Tammy from Miami" is another lovely Latina who's best known for her, uh, assets, though now she's branching out into the real estate market in South Florida. She's best known for her dating life, as well, most notoriously being linked to rapper Lil'Wayne.
4. Rosa Acosta: She's an OG video vixen who has been "on the scene" for a good number of years, notably seen in Drake's video for "Best I Ever Had" and Chris Brown's video for "Back to the Crib," in addition to her work on various Spanish-language videos. She was referenced in a song by Jeremiah called "Late Nights," and though she claims to have never dated a rapper, she's been linked to Wale (who went totally emotional on her over a little comment) and Soulja Boy, as well as Kardashian Klanster Robert Kardashian Jr. and actor Laz Alonzo. These days, she's into dating "older men" and recently announced her engagement to an anonymous, older "getting money" type of guy. Felicidades!
3. Yvette Prieto: Yvette is a former model who was born and raised in Cuba, and shot to fame after she walked the runway for Alexander Wang. Based in Miami, she used to date Julio Iglesias Jr. (son of legendary Latin crooner Julio Iglesias) before moving on to Michael Jordan, whom she married in April of 2013. She gave birth to the couple's twins early this year, and the couple lives in Kendall, Fla., a tiny suburb of Miami.
2. Vanessa Cornejo-Bryant: she's been "dragged" on various gossip boards for her seemingly "small minded" ways, but you can't fault a girl for liking what she likes. In November 1999, 21-year-old Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers met then-17-year-old Vanessa while she was working as a background dancer on the Tha Eastsidaz music video "G'd Up." The two began dating and became engaged just six months later in May 2000, while she was still a senior at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California. To avoid media scrutiny, she finished high school through independent study. According to Vanessa's cousin Laila Laine, there was no prenuptial agreement. Vanessa said Bryant "loved her too much for one." They married on April 18, 2001, at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Dana Point, California. Neither Bryant's parents, his two sisters, longtime advisor and agent Arn Tellem, nor Bryant's Laker teammates attended. Bryant's parents were opposed to the marriage for a number of reasons. Reportedly Bryant's parents had problems with him marrying so young, especially to a woman who was not African-American. This disagreement resulted in an estrangement period of over two years, which ended when Bryant had his first daughter with Vanessa. The Bryants' first child, a daughter named Natalia Diamante Bryant, was born on Jan. 19, 2003. The birth of Natalia influenced Bryant to reconcile his differences with his parents. Vanessa Bryant suffered a miscarriage due to an ectopic pregnancy in the spring of 2005. Their second daughter, Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, was born on May 1, 2006. Gianna was born six minutes ahead of former teammate Shaquille O'Neal's daughter Me'arah Sanaa, who was born in Florida. On Dec. 16, 2011, Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, and the couple requested joint custody of their daughters. On Jan. 11, 2013, Bryant and his wife both announced via social media that they had called off their divorce.
1. Lala Vasquez-Anthony: She's perhaps the most independently accomplished woman on this list! Lala is an American disc jockey, television personality, and actress. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she attended Piscataway High School as a teenager. In the early 2000s, Vazquez came to prominence as an MTV VJ on Total Request Live. Her parents are both Puerto Rican, and she refers to herself as an "Afro-Latina." In Atlanta, Vazquez worked as a programming assistant at WHTA radio. While a student in high school, she received her first big break with her debut in a radio show, alongside Ludacris, called Future Flavas. After working for some time at the station, she decided to relocate to Washington, D.C., where she attended Howard University and studied Communications. While at Howard, she worked as a disc jockey at WHUR, the campus radio station. In 1999, she moved to Los Angeles, and went to work at KKBT radio. There, she was noticed by MTV and was invited to audition, although was not called back until a year after the audition. She was the co-host of MTV's Direct Effect and Total Request Live. She has also hosted the reunion specials for all seasons of VH1's Flavor of Love, both seasons of I Love New York, the first season of Real Chance of Love, the first season of Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School and For the Love of Ray J. In addition, she often introduced stories on MTV's High School Stories and she appeared as a dean on VH1's Charm School with Ricki Lake. Vazquez made her film debut in 2001 in Two Can Play That Game. Her other film credits include Urban Massacre (2002), Monster Island (2004), You Got Served (2004) and Think Like a Man (2012). Vazquez became engaged to basketball player Carmelo Anthony on Christmas Day 2004. Their son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, was born on March 7, 2007. They were married by Michael Eric Dyson on July 10, 2010 at Cipriani's in New York before 320 guests. The ceremony was filmed by VH1 and aired as part of a reality series on the couple, titled La La's Full Court Wedding. The couples life together is chronicled on their continuation series, La La's Full Court Life.
