Michael Schumacher is still undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program at his estate in Geneva, Switzerland where a highly-secured, state-of-the-art medical suite has been custom built. He is under the care of 15 medical experts 24/7. While reports about his condition have remained elusive due to the ongoing media blackout requested by his family, a recent report published by German news outlet Bunte claimed that the Formula One legend is "very thin" and is "able to walk."

Days before the second anniversary of Schumacher's unfortunate skiing accident at the French Alpine Resort of Meribel, the seven-time F1 world champion was on the front page of Bunte on Tuesday, with a headline "He Can Move Again." But what made the headline interesting was the claim that Schumacher can finally walk.

"Michael is very thin," an insider said, as quoted by the publication. "But he can once again walk a little with the help of his therapists. He manages to make a couple of steps. And he can also raise an arm."

Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm, who has also been the official spokesperson of the family, vilified the walking rumors, saying the report only ignited "false hopes," Zig Wheels noted.

"Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true," Kehm said, as per NDTV Sports. "Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people."

Despite Kehm's denial, Bunte magazine said it was standing by the accuracy of its report, NZ Herald reported.

Michael Schumacher shocked the world when he sustained serious head injuries during an unfortunate skiing accident at the French Alps on Dec. 29, 2013. He was on a vacation with his wife Corinna and children Mick and Gina. Due to the accident, Schumacher was placed on a medically induced coma and spent months in the hospital. And up until now, the horrific skiing accident has continued to plague the Schumachers.

In fact, there were reports claiming that the family is already giving up due to the 46-year-old F1 superstar's slow rehabilitation improvements. Reports said the family has been struggling with $154,000 (£100,000) per week rehabilitation costs, which have already exceeded $15 million (£10 million). And due to scarce reports and updates about his current health condition, comments from Maurizio Arrivabene, Lewis Hamilton and Jean Todt have been interpreted negatively, according to The Bit Bag.

Meanwhile, Kehm had previously shared that Schumacher's condition is improving. And while his recovery remains at a "snail's pace," his family is still in full support and remains hopeful for his full recovery.

"We are happy to say he still does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had," Kehm said during an interview. "But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."
