Cleveland Cavaliers vs Phoenix Suns Preview & Live Stream: LeBron & Co. Looks to End Two-Game Slide
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to end their two-game losing streak when they visit the Phoenix Suns at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on Monday night. The Cavaliers are halfway through their four-game road trip to end the year while the Suns have lost four straight and seven of their last nine contests.
The game will not be easy for Cleveland despite the poor performance of Phoenix the past couple weeks. The Cavaliers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, who ended their five-game losing streak with a 105-76 last Saturday.
LeBron James and company played in their second game of a back-to-back, losing to the Golden State Warriors in their finals rematch on Christmas Day. James said after the game that the team were spent in their game against the Warriors, but they didn't want to make excuses.
"Offensively, we are in a funk right now. Our energy was lacking at the beginning of the game. It picked up, but at some point, it got so out of hand that it didn't matter. Throw it in the trash. There was nothing good we did tonight," James said.
He scored a season-low, 12 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists while Kevin Love led the Cavaliers in scoring 13 points and only five boards in the blowout loss. Matthew Dellavedova added 10 points, starting over Kyrie Irving who sat out the game because the Caveliers are still monitoring his minutes.
On the other hand, the Suns came off an embarrassing home loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. To make matters worse, Eric Bledsoe left the game with a knee injury. He suffered a torn meniscus on his left knee and is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday with a possible return after the All-Star break.
Bledsoe only had four points before suffering the injury in the second quarter of the 111-104 loss. Brandon Knight picked up the slack with 21 points, three rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Rookie Devin Booker had 19 points off the bench while Jon Leuer almost registered a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.
"Obviously, it's probably a low point for us. This last stretch I think we lost a little bit of confidence. We're going to keep working and try to get to the point where we're winning some of these games," Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek said.
Tip-off in Phoenix starts at 9:00 PM ET and is available online on multiple devices via the NBA League Pass. It is also broadcasted live locally in the United States on FOX Sports Arizona and FOX Sports Ohio.
