Selena Gomez has been spotted in Costa Rica, and rumors are swirling Niall Horan could soon be joining her there to ring in the new year.

HollywoodLife reports fans of the "Come Get It" singer were pleasantly surprised to see her dining at the island's Hard Rock Cafe in recent days.

With One Direction buddy Harry Styles already spied not far away, vacationing in Anguilla with Kendall Jenner, for many the question has become: How much longer will it be before Horan is also seen in the tropics?

As for now, Gomez has only been seen with friends Samuel Krost and Joel and Esther Houston.

Despite publicly insisting that they are just friends, Gomez and Horan have seemed to become quite the item over the last several weeks. For Christmas, several media outlets reported Horan gifted Gomez one of his favorite white T-shirts for her to sleep in.

"Before Selena and Niall went their separate ways for Christmas, he wrapped up one of his favorite white T-shirts and gave it to Selena to sleep in," a source said. "She always told him how much she loves the way he smells, so he doused the shirt with his cologne. Niall told her to wear his shirt whenever she misses him."

Meanwhile, Gomez's on-again, off-again ex Justin Bieber has also been seen vacationing near the island in the days leading up to New Year's Eve. Like Styles, he was recently spotted basking in the beauty of Anguilla with model Hailey Baldwin.

Not long ago, Bieber was rumored to be agitated over onetime pal Horan taking up with Gomez, and he fired off a series of angry texts to his fellow star to show his displeasure.

Word is Bieber was also seeking a face-to-face meeting with Horan, but the odds of that happening were low because Gomez had advised her new rumored beau against it.
