WWE: 'The New Day' to Have Sasha Banks as New Member?
WWE Tag Team champions "The New Day" is the most successful act in the WWE in the past year, putting good matches, entertaining promos and even high merchandise sales. According to several reports, WWE is looking to add Sasha Banks and the rest of "Team B.A.D" as new members of "The New Day."
Daily Wrestling News reports that the recent segment on Monday Night RAW featuring both teams was done to look at the fan reactions. There were a lot of backstage talks saying that Sasha Banks, Naomi and Tamina Snuka have great chemistry with Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E.
The creative team is reportedly focused on putting up stables to help with the declining ratings of the product with the hope of creating a buzz like they had during the Attitude Era from the late 1990s to early 2000s. Three stables were formed in 2015 in the Divas division while the "League of Nations" and Roman Reigns' "The Family" was created towards the end of the year.
In a segment a few weeks ago on RAW, "The New Day," "The Wyatt Family," "Team ECW" and "League of Nations" clashed to open the show that ended up being one of the highest-rated shows of the year.
According to TInquisitr, there is also talks on just adding Banks and letting her leave Naomi and Tamina. "Team B.A.D" has not been a success and putting "The Boss" with WWE Tag Team champions as the sole female member of the group can elevate her status.
The fans have been cheering for Banks more than her two stablemates, evidenced by the "We want Sasha" chants during most Diva matches on television. Big E. was asked by Sports Illustrated back in October regarding who he wanted to add to "The New Day."
"Sasha Banks, no question. She's probably my favorite wrestler on the planet right now. The stuff she's done with Bayley have been tremendous, both at 'Takeover: Brooklyn' and the Iron Man Match. We've got a lot of respect for her, she's on another level," Big E. said.
However, there is always the threat of overexposing "The New Day" because they are getting too much time on screen. In a recent episode of RAW, the tag team champs had four segments in the three-hour show as the WWE is very high on their gimmick right now. The WWE is known to overexpose superstars in the past with the fans turning sour on characters as in the case of John Cena.
