HP wants to overtake Apple's Macbook with an even thinner laptop of their own. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, they have done just that.

The HP Elitebook Folio G1 is slightly thinner than the Apple MacBook, and it also has a faster processor, Tech Radar reports.

The Elitebook Folio G1 measures at 0.49 inches thick. That is just barely thinner than the MacBook, which is 0.51 inches thick. The Elitebook Folio G1 weighs 2.2 pounds, compared to the MacBook's weight of 2.03 pounds.

The Intel Core m7-6Y75 processor inside the Elitebook Folio G1 is faster than the MacBook's processor. Additionally, the Elitebook Folio G1 includes two USB-C ports. USB-C is a brand new technology that is still being introduced in the technology world.

The Elitebook Folio G1 has a CNC aluminum body and a glass trackpad. Users have the option of upgrading the 12.5-inch screen to a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels).

MacBooks cannot be opened up past a certain point, but the Elitebook Folio G1 has a special hinge that allows it to be opened flat to 180 degrees.

The HP Elitebook Folio G1 will be available directly from HP's website starting in March.

HP also announced two other Elitebook laptops at CES, the Elitebook 1040 G3 and the Elitebook 800 G3 Series.

The Elitebook 1040 G3 uses the sixth generation Intel i series processors. The Elitebook 1040 G3 updates the 1040 G2 laptop with USB-C charging and Bang & Olufsen speakers.

With a 14-inch screen, the Elitebook 1040 G3 still is able to stay on the light side at 3.15 pounds. The new laptop will be available later this month, starting at $1,199.

The Elitebook 800 G3 Series comes in three different sizes, 12.5, 14 and 15.6 inches. The laptops are fully customizable with either Intel i3, i5 or i7 processors and up to 16 GB of RAM.

The Elitebook 800 G3 Series is available this month starting at $949.
