FX 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Clues, Cast & Theme: Will Season 4 Be the Last?
How much longer will the FX series American Horror Story be on the air? According to rumors, the show has just one season left.
The grapevine has been saying that American Horror Story will end after its upcoming fourth season. American Horror Story actress Frances Conroy may be partially responsible for this rumor as she suggested the show was ending at this year's PaleyFest.
"I have no idea how long [creator Ryan Murphy] wants to do this," Conroy said. "I heard he said in some interview that four seasons were enough."
Conroy added that she herself is uncertain of the show's future.
"Will he change his mind? I don't know," Conroy continued.
Recently, creator Ryan Murphy clarified the rumor that is horrifying American Horror Story fans.
"No," he told E! News. "I never said that. I want Horror Story to go 10 years or more! And I think it can."
It has been confirmed, however, that season 4 of the the supernatural thriller will be Jessica Lange's last.
The next chapter in Murphy's series is titled American Horror Story: Freak Show. It will take place in the 1950s in Jupiter, Fla. Lange will play a German woman who manages one of the last freak shows still standing in the United States. According to TV Guide, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson will play freaks.
"I don't know everything that's coming," Paulson said in an interview with OTRC earlier this month. "I do have an idea about what I'm playing, and I can't tell you anything about it and I also think it could change. You know, they're writing it now, and I think sometimes they get in that writers' room and they're like, 'This doesn't work,' and something goes away and now I'm doing something entirely different."
In late March, Murphy announced the addition of a new cast member, Michael Chiklis. He will play Bates' ex-husband and Peters' father.
