‘Final Fantasy 9’ Coming to PC, iOS and Android Devices; Steam Details Revealed
"Final Fantasy 9" is finally coming to new platforms, including the PC and mobile devices. Publisher Square Enix revealed the good news to the fans on their official website, adding that the much-awaited game is "coming soon."
The post on the website also announced that the mobile platforms will require iOS 7.0 or later, or Android 4.1 or later, although the team cautioned that the new "Final Fantasy" might not work on certain devices of Android.
This official announcement on the website hypes up the fanbase, but not much information was revealed. Fortunately, Steam posted the listing of the "Final Fantasy 9" on their official website shortly after, offering a more complete picture of the game such as the minimum specs required for it.
"Zidane and the Tantalus Theater Troupe have kidnapped Princess Garnet, the heir of Alexandria," the official story description of the Square Enix title read. "To their surprise, however, the princess herself yearned to escape the castle. Through a series of unusual circumstances, she and her personal guard, Steiner, fall in with Zidane and set out on an incredible journey. Meeting unforgettable characters like Vivi and Quina along the way, they learn about themselves, the secrets of the Crystal, and a malevolent force that threatens to destroy their world."
Those on PC can prep for the arrival of "Final Fantasy 9" on their device already with the guidelines on Steam's website. At a minimum, players should have a Vista 7/8/8.1/10 powered with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz or better. Memory should be at least 2GB of RAM, plus 20GB of free storage space.
DirectX®9.0c or later compatible sound card is also required, as well as NVIDIA GeForce 8600GTS or ATI Radeon HD4650 or higher graphic card. For the best quality, though, Steam recommended a Core i5 2520 2.5GHz or better and 4GB of RAM.
Steam also offered new details on the "Final Fantasy 9" gameplay, such as customizable Abilities, Trance mode, combination of various equipment, and fun mini-games for the players. The hotly anticipated game will also feature seven game boosters which include high-speed and no-encounter modes, as well as high-definition movies and character models.
"Final Fantasy 9" was originally released back in 2000, and the game has already been extremely successful with over five million copies sold in total. Now, Square Enix is set to conquer new platforms with the adventure favorite.
A launch date has not yet been confirmed, but the Steam report revealed the PC version will be released in early 2016.
