WWE: Daniel Bryan Wants Doctors Clearance to Work Dream Match with Shinsuke Nakamura
The wrestling community all over the world felt shocked and excited this week when the rumors of huge names from New Japan Pro Wrestling will be coming to WWE. One of the most excited is WWE superstar Daniel Bryan who wishes to be given clearance by doctors in order to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura, A.J. Styles, and other NJPW stars.
Bryan recently wrote on Instagram, "Can WWE clear me already?" and linking the WWE.com article about the NJPW rumors. WWE publicly acknowledging the rumors on their own website is something the company doesn't normally do, which makes it more convincing that the rumors are indeed true.
The former WWE World Heavyweight champion is currently sidelined with concussion-like symptoms since April last year but has been cleared by his personal doctor, a doctor for the Arizona Cardinals. However, WWE's doctor, Joseph Maroon has advised management to not let him wrestle again due his history of concussions.
He was scheduled to see a third doctor to assess his condition, but as of this writing, no details about the results has been released. Bryan recently said in an interview in Singapore while doing some promotional work for the WWE that his career with the company may be over.
The news of John Cena's shoulder injury that will cause him to miss WrestleMania 32 and six more months means WWE needs Bryan's star power right now. The 34-year-old's recent post means he is looking forward to a dream match against Nakamura.
He told Title Match Wrestling last April 2015 that he pitched an idea with WWE management a match between him and "The King of Strong Style."
"I pitched this. I have pitched this. I want to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura. So, he and I lived together for a brief bit in Santa Monica, California and we're doing a tour of Japan soon, and I thought 'oh, what a great inter-promotional thing it would be if I were to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura,'" Bryan said as quoted by Cageside Seats.
"And not only that it would be fun, it would be rewarding and if we put it on the Network and they could put in on their New Japan World or whatever it is that they have and then, it would be a win/win for everybody. But, I don't know if anybody bought that idea," he added.
WWE fans are surely looking forward to the arrival of NJPW stars and are probably starting to book their own fantasy matches.
