Reno Latin Dance Fest Gathers US, Canada and Mexico Dancers at the Silver Legacy for a Weekend Full of Dancing
For much of the weekend, Reno will be full of fun, revelry and dance. The Silver Legacy Resort Casino is hosting the annual Reno Latin Dance Fest on Jan. 7 to 10, with a flock of talented dancers from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico coming together to celebrate their passion.
According to a report from MyNews4, this year's events will be the series' eighth year in the city
Bianca Chapman, a professional dancer for the festival, said that she is still as excited as ever for the Reno event, which continues to develop and reach new heights each time around.
"For me, it's been amazing," Chapman said. "I've seen the festival grow more and more each year and the quality of teams that they have here, professional level, it's just absolutely amazing."
Co-producer of the Reno Latin Dance Fest BB Flanders explained what makes this particular event particularly enticing and special for visiting dancers.
"Most Latin dance festivals are at, like, an airport hotel where things shut down early," he pointed out. "And so when people from around the United States come here, they get a little crazy because people here in Reno know how to do the 24-hour party."
Indeed, the schedule of those who are able to snag a ticket will likely be full throughout the weekend. Workshops are available for guests during the day for a wide variety of dances such as Bachata, Salsa, Cumbia, Hip Hop and Kizomba, according to a listing on the Silver Legacy website. In the evening, there will be different types of performances by the professionals as well, while a DJ is geared up to keep the dance party going all night.
"To put it simply, the Reno Latin Dance Fest and Showcase is a Latin dance festival with workshops taught by professional instructors, night parties with hours of social dancing with some of the best Latin DJs, and an evening showcase, where dance couples and teams from all over the nation entertain the audience with their energy and creative performances," the website description read. "We also offer dance workshops for every level, from first-time beginners to advanced. It doesn't matter if people have danced for years or if they just started last week, we have something for everyone at a level that's comfortable."
More information about the tickets and passes are available at the Reno Latin Dance Fest website. Single evening passes may still be bought online, but the daytime workshops are sold out. A good option to attend the workshops is to do Volunteer Work Trade.
