One Direction fandom is taking it to a whole new level -- an extremely popular fan fiction featuring a character portraying Harry Styles is now to be adapted into a movie.

United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed to represent film rights for the interesting development based on the novel After by Anna Todd. The three-part fan fiction, which has been read by over 150 million people worldwide, is indeed one of Wattpad's most read series. After 2 has had 156 million readers, while After 3 has amassed 300 million readers.

Wattpad general manager Candice Faktor explained the storyline: "a happy, optimistic young girl falls in love with a guy with a dark side that is additive, and their relationship is a rollercoaster ride."

Very similar to how Fifty Shades of Grey, which started as a Twilight fan fiction, was published with different names replacing the characters of Edward and Bella, After will have to avoid using "Harry Styles" and the names of other One Direction members.

Although the fan fiction might be popular, it does not necessarily mean that everyone appreciates it. The author previously responded to the inevitable haters. "Fan fictions are turned into books/movies all the time so I hope those of you, who dislike 'After' or me, will just take a step back and look at this as an opportunity for yourself and with all the amazing things happening with Wattpad. You could be the one having a movie next!" she said. "So try to remember that Wattpad is an amazing and positive community, that being said, I won't engage in any fights so please leave your hateful comments on your own page."
