Top 500 Hispanic Businesses for 2014 Released, Lists Companies With Annual Revenues Exceeding $1 Billion
The United States' largest organization of privately owned businesses released its "Top 500 Hispanic Owned Businesses in the United States" for 2014.
The listing compiled by DiversityBusiness includes businesses with a revenue size from $20 million to more than $1 billion. According to DiversityBusiness.com, the companies listed on the Div500 should "challenge the long-held notion" that Hispanic businesses are "small or insignificant."
Six companies were distinguished in the "Top 500 Hispanic Owned Businesses in the United States" for having more than $1 billion in annual revenues. The six companies recognized are Brightstar Corp. from in Miami; A. Millican Crane Service, Inc. from in Poulsbo, Wash.; Technology Transfer Services, Inc. based in Tampa, Fla.; SDI International Corp. from in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; The Related Group based in Miami, and Goya Foods based in Secaucus, N.J.
The top 500 companies were selected from an "extensive" set of criteria such as reviewing each entrant's business profile, website and gross annual sales submitted. DiversityBusiness noted over 1.3 million businesses in the U.S. had the opportunity to participate in the annual survey, which is currently in its fourteenth year.

The Div500 by DiversityBusiness exists for different demographics or categories such as the Top 500 African American Businesses, Top 500 Veteran Owned Businesses, and the Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses in the U.S., to name a few. According to Omega World Travel President and CEO Gloria Bohan, her business was recognized among the top 500 women-owned businesses list and has resulted in new opportunities including with Fortune 500 corporations.

Div500 lists represent the top privately-held businesses in the U.S. in sectors including food service, manufacturing, technology and more. DiversityBusiness acknowledged that major corporations, government agencies, and education institutions have utilized the Div500 list in order to conduct potential business.
