NBC 'The Voice' USA 2014: Judge Christina Aguilera Replaced With New Blonde Pop Star
Rumors say that Gwen Stefani will replace Christina Aguilera, who is currently pregnant with her second child, as one of the judges on the upcoming season of NBC's popular reality singing competition series, The Voice.
According to TMZ, producers of the television show apparently started looking for a replacement when Aguilera announced her pregnancy in February. According to a source, the broadcasting company actually wanted the "Can't Hold Us Down" singer to stay on the show during her pregnancy. Aguilera, however, reportedly realized that she needs to take a short break since she is already having a difficult time.
For now, TMZ sources say the No Doubt lead singer's contract is for only one season. Aguilera, 33, has already signed on for a definite return to The Voice judging panel for Season 8. According to a number of sources who TMZ says are closely connected to the singing competition show, Stefani will be present for the season 7 taping, which begins in June.
There is no doubt that Stefani knows what the Genie in a Bottle singer is going through now, as she recently gave birth to her third child just less than two months ago. The 44-year-old and her musician husband Gavin welcomed their adorable baby son Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale.
In addition, Stefani recently enjoyed dinner at Crossroads, a popular vegan restaurant in West Hollywood, with her A-list celebrity pals last night (April 18). Gwyneth Paltrow took to her Instagram account to share the photo of the girls' night out.
"#girlsnight @nicolerichie @chelseahandler @StellaMcCartney @gwenstefani @naomiwatts #samtaylorwood," the actress wrote in the photo's caption.
